Times and is very informative and includes the latest  statistics of distracted and cell phone driving, links to related articles, a

Special Thanks to the The Dahlonega Nugget

In the October 3rd Edition of the Dahlonega Nugget, Writer Sharon Hall's article, titled, Educating Drivers on Dangers of Distraction features Melinda Garnett's story and how Not4Cell was founded. This article has helped to raise public awareness within the county on the dangers of distracted driving, especially among local teens.

An Amazing Article about Distracted Driving Recommended by Teens 4 Safety

A high school club called "Teens 4 Safety" found an amazing article that they think would be great to share with people who
visit my website and I highly recommend it. The page is www.fullcoverageautoinsurances.com/texting-and-driving/

"Teens 4 Safety"
has a goal to let as many people as possible know about the dangers of distracted driving and are actively searching for other resources to share with people.
"Hopefully more people will become aware of this horrible issue that is taking too many lives"  says Andrew, a young man who is very dedicated to this worthy cause!  Please be sure and visit their site at Teens4Safety.com.

Special Thanks to The Northwest Baby Boomer Society NWBBS
Jen  is a community coordinator within the town of Lexington in Illinois and has been using my web page to create a Distracted Driving series. "The web page is so easy to understand and I just wanted to say thanks for creating it!"   As a thank you, her co-coordinator, Angela, suggested another resource to add to my web page because she believes that drivers of all ages would greatly benefit from its resources. She researched the article and found it to be sound and educational.  I believe you will agree, so please check it out:

Special Thanks to the Road Safety Group for encouraging safer, more responsible driving amongst young adults.  I was recently contacted by Megan who suggested a few resources to add to this website that would be a benefit to all visitors.  She and the Road Safety Group believe that the best way to encourage safe driving is through education and wants to ensure the information is not only available online, but that they are hoping to reach as many young adults as possible.  Please check out each of these links as they will provide valuable information for all young adult drivers:

Special Thanks to Sean Markey, with Old Junk Car, who recently published:

"Teen Safe Driving Guide:  The Ultimate Resource For Staying Safe in The Car"

"Unfortunately, we see the aftermath of horrific car accidents on a regular basis because our company, OldJunkCar.com buys junk and salvage cars from around the country."

"While we are based in Brooklyn (65 Jay St., New York, NY 11201), we see pictures from car sellers all over the country and are acutely aware of the aftermath that results from distracted driving."

"Some of our employees were teens not too long ago and the memories of learning to drive are fresh. Distractions like text messages, Snapchats and now smart watches like the Apple watch are on the forefront of our minds and we want to help others understand the responsibility involved in getting behind the wheel of a car."

It's an extensive guide that covers defensive driving, distracted driving, car maintenance and so much more that I found it worthy to include it on our "Links" page.  It also inspired me to design a new tab for the "New Driver" on my website and I hope you will check it out!

Thanks again Sean Markey and keep up the awesome work!

Special Thanks to Jennifer Allen, a fellow driving safety advocate located in Massachusetts

Jennifer found my website while doing some research for a class she will be teaching this summer for new drivers.  She is passionate about focusing on distracted driving, "Given the insane number of unnecessary teen deaths each year in this country due to such a preventable cause"  Jennifer found a really great resource online and wanted to share it with us because it is clever, well done, and is a really good fit for Not-4-Cell's website.  "I'd love to know that I could help out a little and help spread the word"

I checked out the resource and although the statistics are slightly exaggerated, (According to the CDC there were 2,865 teen deaths in 2013) I believe the numbers are climbing rapidly and found the resource to be very helpful and important enough to include on my links page.  The article is titled:  Driving While Intexticated  Check it out!  Thank you Jennifer for your support!

with Home Schooling Adventures in Albany, NY

Jackie and her students have been learning about driver safety over the summer and during the school year.  The students came across a link they found about driver safety and wanted to share it on my website.

"I want to teach them to help others and to not be afraid to ask for help, which I hope will stick with them when they are older", says Jackie.

The school has 4 volunteer teachers that spend their time over the summer working with kids that need a little extra help.  During the school year they also do a lot of tutoring for the kids after school, all as volunteers.  Please be sure to check out the link they sent me, as well as their school's webpage!

A Special "Thank You" to Renee & Aubrey Vickers

Renee and her daughter Aubrey reached out to thank me for the great resources that are provided on this website.  Aubrey is a nanny after school and has the responsibility of picking up kids a couple of days out of the week.  Her mother Renee felt the need to sit down with her daughter and research the importance of car safety.  In addition to this website, Aubrey found an article that she thought would be a great resource about "Keeping Kids Safe In Cars" and recommends adding another link to my website.

So, I checked it out and was very impressed, so much that I wanted to create another Tab called "Seat Belts & Car Seats" in an effort to reach out to parents about the safety of our kids.  I have included the link Renee and Aubrey sent me below, as well as under the new tab "Seat Belts & Car Seats" and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling with children and infants.

I would like to encourage other parents to be like Renee because taking the time to help educate our children is very important.  I also believe that Aubrey is going to be a great nanny!  Thank you both for your support and for doing your part in helping to save lives!

A Special "Thank You" to Steve Johnson, Public Health Advocate in Grandville, MI

Steve Johnson, wrote an incredible article, "Teens Through Senior Citizens: Safe Driving Tips To Keep You Alive" and has given me permission to post it on NOT4CELL's website.  It is an incredible article and I have placed it under the TIPS section on this website.  Just click the button below and it will take you there.

Steve was inspired to write this article because during the holiday season he saw a lot of people driving while on their phones, not paying attention, and even running red lights.  Steve brought up a very good point that "People forget that they are hurling a two-ton machine along the road that can actually cause fatal damage if not handled properly"  As a public health advocate, Steve considers driver safety to be just as important as other health issues.  Just because a driver gets their first license it doesn't mean that awareness should stop.  "We should always be monitoring our skills and readiness behind the wheel"

Steve also wanted me to include these links listed below that are very good resources and I believe they are very beneficial.  Thank you Steve Johnson for taking the time to write this article and also providing us with more resources in an effort to save lives!

A Special Thank You to Landon Biehl, of N.C. for providing more great resources

Landon Biehl recently launched a tool that helps drivers to track signs of lemon-like traits within their vehicles.  It helps motorists who are having trouble with their vehicle to identify whether or not excessive repairs would identify their vehicle as a lemon, and what they can do about it.  It also provides the Lemon Laws for every state.

"You are relying on them to sell you something you can rely on!"

When Landon contacted me about this new tool, the bells and whistles went off in my head that this could be fatal on our roads with other drivers and I believe this is very significant in helping to save lives.  Also, it could be a warning to people following too close behind other vehicles on the road.  Those who think nothing could happen to someone's car, especially a brand new car should take heed.  For these reasons, I am completely on board with this new tool and have even created an additional page on my website called Lemon Cars!
Kudos to Landon for doing his part in helping to save lives!  Check it out!

A Special "Thank You" to Ryan Nelson and Rexing USA, Milford, CT

I reached out to Rexing USA after my son and I were recently victims in a car accident where an irate careless driver not only hit us once but twice and got away with intentional assault with her car.  Thankfully we were not seriously injured but if we had the accident on video things could have turned out much differently.

I purchased 2 Dash Cams for both of our cars from Rexing USA and we have been using them for over 2 months now.  It really bothered me knowing that the driver who hit us is out there on the road without any consequences for her actions.  It prompted me to do something about it, so I reached out to Rexing USA to see if they would allow me to share with the readers of NOT4CELL the abilities and benefits of having a Dash Cam.

Ryan Nelson, the Brand Manager, and Rexing USA, are very passionate about advocating for safer driving conditions and awareness on the roads.  They really appreciate conscious drivers who equip themselves with Dash Cams to help capture and potentially correct behaviors of irresponsible drivers.  I can tell you now from my own personal experience that having a Dash Cam in our cars provides us with a greater peace of mind and the only regret we have is that we should have done it sooner.

Ryan Nelson and the team at Rexing USA were happy to allow me to use their marketing information to help raise awareness of the utility of their cameras and provided me with their basic kit of resources.

A Special "Thank You" to Don Jacobson and his daughter Lucy

Don's daughter, Lucy, just got her driver's license and he was extremely nervous about her going out on the road for the first time by herself. However, Lucy explained to him how nervous she was too and how she had been reading NOT4CELL's LINKS page in every attempt to make herself a better driver. Don is a very concerned father and stated that,

"It is comforting to see that you've put together such a great resource for new drivers that can help put the minds of parents like myself at ease! I'm sure I'm far from the only parent who gets anxious thinking about their child out on the road."

In addition to my LINKS page, Lucy also sent her father an article all about Making sure not to become distracted while behind the wheel. He read it over and discovered that it has some great info. Lucy and I thought you might find it useful as well and wondered if it was a good fit for NOT4CELL's LINKS page.

"I would love to show Lucy that not only is she being responsible but is helping to keep others safe too!"

KUDOS!! to Don and Lucy for doing their part in helping to save lives and making our roads safer!  I have found this to be an excellent resource and hope you will too.  Check out the link below:

Bill Dawson is a volunteer writer for the MindfulTraveler (MT).  They believe that exploring new places can be great for our mental health, and never misses a chance to hit the road.  Bill contacted NOT4CELL about several resources he thought would help our readers stay safe and secure on the road.

"It occurred to me that a key safety measure for driving is making sure that your fellow passengers -- *all* of them! -- are safely strapped in and occupied so you don’t have to pay them any attention"

I applaud Bill for providing these links and liked them so much I created a page titled "Passengers" and have listed the links he provided.  Kudos Bill!  For taking the time to reach out to us and by doing your part to help save lives on our roads!

A Special "Thank You" to Heather Wells

Heather reached out to us because someone close to her is a Senior Driver and although there have not been any major issues, their age has given her cause to worry.  She wanted to look into it before she approached this delicate subject with her loved one.

In her research, Heather referenced an article about Elderly Driving that she found on Nursing Home Law Center's website, very informative and wanted to see about including the link on NOT4CELL's website in hopes that it would be worthwhile to share with those in a similar situation.   I found the link to be extremely helpful.

Thanks to Heather, NOT4CELL now has a new Page titled SENIOR DRIVERS!  Kudos to you Heather for doing your part in helping to save lives!  Check out the link she sent us and also I have provided a link to our new page.

A Special "Thank You" to Gina Phillips with Caution Cling

Gina Phillips created "Caution Cling".  It is a reusable, transferable, reflective cling that when placed in the lower left corner of the rear window on the vehicle is designed to promote caution and safety for other drivers on the road.  It alerts others that a New or Senior Driver is behind the wheel in front of them.  There are also "Caution Clings" that inform other drivers that babies and toddlers are passengers.

"Gina wishes to see Caution Clings on the car windows of each appropriate household, to help reduce automobile accidents, prevent road rage and potentially save lives, one cling at a time. The sooner motorist become aware of Caution Cling, the sooner they may begin making safer driving decisions."

Kudos to Gina Phillips for going above and beyond to help save lives out on our roads, one "Caution Cling" at a time!

A Special "Thank You" to Lily Scott with Digital Advocacy in Santa Monica, CA

Lily Scott has been doing research for a project on medical emergencies and family finances and suggested an important addition that would help further the cause of preparing families for unforeseen medical expenses.  This is a great, accessible guide that covers general preparations, specific scenarios and much more.

"Medical emergencies are inherently difficult for families, but the financial problems that often accompany them only worsen the hardship and stress – often for many years. The statistics are shocking – in 2018, 62% of Americans don’t have enough saved to cover an unexpected $1000 medical expense."

"That is why I’d like to ask if you could add this article, from The Motley Fool, on your website"

Kudos to Lily Scott for bringing this information to the readers at NOT4CELL - I like it so much I have included it under "Accident Preparedness" on my website.  Please visit the links below to check it out!
